The Girls Like Me Luton Conference

The very first event takes place in Luton on Friday, 11th October so we can celebrate the International Day of the Girl.  The Conference theme is Anxious/Stressed/ Depressed, No More!  We are so excited to encourage, empower and inspire the girls of Luton and Beds. So we welcome girls from 11 – 18 to come and join us at the Riverside Suite at Venue 360. Doors open for registration for the first session at 13:00 and this session is for girls chaperoned by a responsible person, such as a teacher/support worker, and who have been given authorisation to attend. During this early after session we will have engaging activities and developmental workshops.

Doors open for registration to our later afternoon session at 16:00 and this session is open to individual girls to attend. During this session we will have inspiring speakers, engaging activities, developmental workshops. a fashion show and a variety of exhibitors. Mum’s that wish to chaperone their daughters are welcome to wait at the bar upstairs.

The wonderful speakers we have are Hasina, the Self-defence expert,  Tene Edeards, writer, author and self-love advocate from Walk With Wings, Anjeli Parmar from Love Gold Boutique and of course Jasmine Mbye, Speaker, Trainer, Coach and Director of The Like Me CIC. Our agenda and speaker pics and bios will be released shortly. Each speaker will share how they have dealt or deal with Anxiety, Stress and/or Depression. We want to create a safe space to share and for this day to be memorable so we are also providing refreshment and a light meal. Don’t wait, tickets are limited so click to get your’s now.

The Girls Like Me Luton Magazine

This will be produced quarterly with stories of Lutonian girls and women, or of interest to Lutonian girls and women, who have gone through great challenges, are pursuing their passions and dreams as well as those who have pursued their passions and achieved their dreams.


The Girls Like Me Summer Workshops

Summer is drawing to a close and so we ran some free workshops from 27-30th August to help the preparation for the new school year. Each new year brings new challenges so we looked at common issues young girls face. Workshop sessions were from 9:45am – 12:45pm for girls aged between 13-17 years old.

Our personal development sessions focused on key issues to prepare for the academic year ahead such as; confidence, motivation, resilience, how to deal with problems and values and beliefs. Thanks to those who joined us and made the sessions successful.
